SPECIFICATION
CODE
PX-VFD/M Series
is a full size machine designed for high sample out put. Samples
are dissolved and mixed into a lithium borate flux. The sample
is automatically poured into pre-heated moulds. The moulds are
then retracted over separate cooling jets for precise control
of cooling.
PX-VFD/R Series is a smaller
machine than the M series and is designed for medium sample
output. The sample is automatically poured into pre-heated moulds.
The moulds are then cooled in situ above the burners.
PX-VFD/S is a single sample
machine similar in operation to the M & R series, designed
for small, introductory or back up sample out put. The PX-VFD/S
has the same functions as the larger machines, recipe storage,
automatic pouring and cooling.
Operation. A recipe is selected from the database, all
timing functions are preset, the samples are then automatically
heated before being dissolved and mixed into a lithium borate
flux. The sample is automatically poured into pre-heated
moulds. The moulds are then retracted over separate cooling
jets for precise control of cooling.
PX-VFD/MD,
MOULDABLE series of machine allows for both melting and
casting to be done in one vessel (mouldable). The sample is
mixed and prepared in a similar way to the above machines to
the end of the mixing stage. The mouldable is then levelled
and cooled to form the bead automatically. This series of machine
does not require pouring of the sample.
PX-VFD/I
Series machine samples
are dissolved and mixed in platinum/gold crucibles. The crucible
and solidified sample is removed from the machine, placed into
a separate beaker to dissolve and heated/ swirled over a separate
hotplate.
PX-VFD/D Series is a full size
machine. Samples are dissolved and mixed in platinum/gold crucibles. The
sample is automatically poured into beakers. The beakers are
then removed and heated/swirled over a separate hotplate.
SPECIFICATIONS
There are 8 different capacities of Phoenix;
PX-VFD 1000 / PX-VFD 2000 /PX-VFD 3000
/PX-VFD 4000 / PX-VFD 6000
PX-VFD
8000 / PX-VFD 10000 / PX-VFD 12000
The first number in the suffix indicates the numbers of samples
that can be made simultaneously. For example the Phoenix 6000
produces six samples in the same operating cycle. The operating
cycle will vary from 5 to 20 minutes depending on the nature
of the material.
We
have found that such is the ease and accuracy of sample production,
that some clients elect to increase their sampling program to
improve quality control. In those circumstances the machine
can be readily upgraded to a larger capacity by the addition
of extra burners in the spaces reserved for them within the
frame size.
All Phoenix models are fully automatic and share the same safety
features.
No
human intervention is required after the operating cycle has
been activated.
